Keep your eyes fixed on this space for more details

To all who come across this blog, unfortunately I have not completed this blog and it did die off. I am currently still a Linux user but I have switched over to using OpenSUSE and this was after Gnome 3 was introduced into Ubuntu 12.04. After this distro release of Ubuntu I started trying out all the different flavours of Linux literally. I have tried:

Linux Mint
Mandriva
LUbuntu
KUbuntu
Ubuntu
Fedora
and now
OpenSUSE

I prefer OpenSUSE for my use in the Linux world. I am very happy with it and it meets my daily task needs. I have grown more and more into opensource and even have completely transfered over to opensource software for all my graphic designing work and for this I use:

Inkscape
Krita
GIMP

Seriously I am able to everything with the above mentioned opensouce graphics applications.
Unfortuneatly this blog will no longer continue and will soon be deleted. Before that happens I will provide a new link to my newest blog site which will be transfered to WordPress and there I will take  what I intended to do with this blog and explores the depths of blogging and offer support to any new to Linux and wanting to make the switch. If you have any trouble or problems making the switch this will be the blog for you. So keep your eyes on this space and soon to come will be my blog site.

3G ZTE Modem Support

ZTE 3G Modem Model: M627

Recently we encountered a problem with the above mentioned 3G USB Modem, it just wont pick it up as a modem and allow you to connect to internet as you are normally able with all other Haweui modems in Ubuntu. So after a bit of research we found the solution, which requires a little bit of changing configuration files but its a quick and easy fix to solve this problem. I will be working on an automated process for this bug.
Below is a link to a PDF document with full instructions, step-by-step, to get this modem working in Ubuntu. This does not apply to Ubuntu 9.10, will supply the fix for the others too. Try using this fix with the other distributions to see if it does the job and please let me know.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE INSTRUCTIONS

Finally here is the fix for Ubuntu 9.10 as well:

These two websites will give you the repositories to put in your synaptic package manager that will allow you to simply download it through your repositories. Here follow the links:

Instructions to install:

Repositories:

This will fix the modem on Ubuntu 9.10. It is said that there is no patch needed for Ubuntu 10.04. There is no need to supply a patch for it.

Please give your response if you have found this blog post helpful.

Under Construction

Dear Visitors,

My name is Clinton Wright and this is my new blog and I have created this blog to give people, who have become Ubuntu users or people who wish to learn more about Ubuntu before making the switch over, to give them resources, information, support and some really cool stuff to add to your Ubuntu Linux to bring out or help you realise its full potential. I switched over to Ubuntu and I am still loving it every bit. I hope to encourage others to see its worth as well.

Blog still under construction:

At the moment this blog is still currently under construction and I hope to get it finished soon.
